It's pretty well-known that I'm a Husky fan, so I won't go too far into that side of my life, other than to ask you this: have you been reading the article series "Victory and Ruins" over the past few days? If you haven't already read the articles, I highly recommend that you do... it's a pretty eye-opening, and somewhat disheartening, story.
If you have read the series, I'd be interested in hearing what your thoughts are on the topics raised...

I read it and had a lot of mixed feelings about the whole thing afterwards. I think it's because I don't know the motivating factors behind the article.
I appreciate that they exposed things that I think previously had been well hidden. I was appalled to read about the judicial system and the preferential treatment previous players received. Am I surprised though? Not really.
I think they paint a pretty valid picture of how far out of control the situation was in terms of expectations, behaviors, and such, permitted by authorities within the athletic department. I do feel a lot of the changes that came in with Ty were a direct result of the past.
I do think it's a sad state when donors offer up money for the firing of a coach purely based on his win-loss average.
So was this article defending Ty? Was it exposing Neuheisel and the troubles UCLA may be in for? Was it pointing out the preferential treatment star athlete's receive?
Maybe it's all of it, but I feel the authors had the right to write it and everyone has a right to have their own opinion on it, despite some comments on the article. It's part of the history of UW now and we can't change that, but as fans let's not drag down a man who puts value in his athlete's for being quality individuals who are seeking an education and has spent years rebuilding a program that was obviously lacking. We will get wins again.
